According to Automotive News , a production future for the rakish extended-range coupe has been scuttled due to "priorities and the conviction that the Volt and Ampera will use all available capacity for years to come" - that's according to a text message from General Motors vice chairman Bob Lutz

Anthony Lo, Saab Aero X and Opel Flexstreme designer, leaves GM for Renault

Filed under: Hirings/Firings/Layoffs , GM , Saab , Renault , Opel , Design/Style Anthony Lo (center) works on the design for the Saab Aero X Concept According to a report from Car Design News, Anthony Lo , Director of Advanced Design at General Motors Europe, has resigned his post to join Renault as Vice President of Exterior Design. Lo has been credited with such interesting and well-regarded concept vehicles as the Saab Aero X from the 2006 Geneva Motor Show and the Opel Flextreme from the 2007 Frankfurt Motor Show . Apparently, he has a thing for unique vehicle entry systems and rear-mounted Segway Transporters.

Less than 24 hours later, one of our dedicated readers, Ted Krygier, has put his best Photoshop skills to work, completing a colored rendering of what the Malibu could look like based on the patent sketches In colored-up form, it's even more clear that the next-gen Malibu will use a design inspired by the Opel/Vauxhall Insignia up front, with a few Camaro -like touches around the rear end.
